True Gravity Agency has secured representation rights to a unique concert presentation of the legendary Judy Garland, A Judy Garland Concert with Joey Luft.

Judy’s only son, Joey Luft, has overseen the production and presents along with lifelong family friend and manager John Kimble and legendary music executive Phil Sandhaus an evening that the Boston Globe calls, “An astonishing achievement, both technically and artistically.”

“True Gravity Agency is thrilled to represent this love letter to the great Judy Garland by her son Joey,” said company president Warren Campbell. “It’s the ultimate tribute to one of the absolute greats of the entertainment history.”

Through the latest in HD technology, Kimble, Luft and Sandhaus pored over 150 performances by Garland and have presented a highly select group in a first time concert event on the big screen.

The show, hosted by her son Joey Luft, is a retrospective in story and song showcasing memorable moments from Garland’s extraordinary life and career–from the Gumm Sisters to MGM, her later concert performances, television specials and highlights from her critically lauded 1963-64 TV series “The Judy Garland Show.” She performs 15 of her greatest hits, including “Stormy Weather,” “Come Rain or Come Shine,” “After You’ve Gone,” and “By Myself.”

“It took us years and years to do because there was so much detail and so much work that went into it,” Luft told the LA Times before the show premiered in Pasadena California last year to rave reviews. “My dad spent so much money that near the end of his life he almost went broke. He wanted to put this show together as a tribute to my mother but was never able to finish it .”

“We have cleaned up all the audio and made it look like it was shot yesterday,” added John Kimble.

Metro calls the performances, “a powerful, emotional night, detailing the tragic star’s short life, including her struggles, her heartbreaks and her ability to captivate audiences, even from beyond the rainbow.”

North American dates are being planned for this unique concert experience starting this spring with bookings across Canada from Toronto to Vancouver, through the Pacific Northwest and into the Southern United States, including Florida, Texas and up the Eastern Seaboard.

Some selected performances will include a travelling collection of gowns that Garland wore in many of her historic stage and film performances, presented by renowned collector, Michael Siewert who travels along with the collection to tell their stories to attendees.

Audio recordings will also be available at the concerts as will merchandise celebrating this unique historic event.

The two-hour concert concludes with a truly unique opportunity to ask questions of Joey Luft whose unique connection to Garland provides unparalleled access to the private life of the Hollywood legend.

“We are very excited about what this concert event provides Garland’s fans,” says Campbell. “It’s been such a long time coming and the planets have truly aligned technologically and historically to bring this to the public. When I saw it performed in California you could feel the emotion in the room.”
