A fifteen year veteran in the media world, James Sharman is the face and voice of soccer coverage in Canada. James was the creator and host of ‘the Footy Show’, Canada’s premier soccer broadcast since 2007. A multi-platform brand, it was one of the most recognizable sports media brands in Canada.
At first a vehicle for the former television network theScore’s English Premier League coverage, the Footy Show was not only a successful television property, but also fronted a top ranked podcast/vodcast and blog. James can currently be seen co-hosting on Soccer Central on Sportsnet, and is a regular soccer contributer to the Tim and Sid Show on the FAN590 and Sportsnet 360.
James has interviewed the world’s biggest soccer names, and covered the biggest clubs. He was tabbed by Rogers Communications as their ‘insider’ during the recent World Cup, contributing to TV, radio, and the Sportsnet magazine. James has hosted pre-match/post-match coverage for three years of English Premier League coverage, and two years of Italian Serie A coverage. In 2011 he was the play-by-play voice for theScore’s Copa America coverage, and has also called Toronto FC matches. With over 10,000 Twitter followers, James is one of Canada’s most popular and respected soccer media personalities.
