Dennis Watkins is an award-winning, third-generation magician and entertainer with awards and honors from the Texas Association of Magicians, the Society of American Magicians and the International Brotherhood of Magicians. Watkins recently starred in The House Theatre’s hit show, Death and Harry Houdini. The show recently enjoyed a terrific, sold-out, 6 month run in Chicago. The Chicago Sun Times writes, “The show soars on Dennis Watkins’ brilliance as a genuine magician.”
Watkins is also the sole performer and creative force behind Chicago’s longrunning show, The Magic Parlour: an intimate evening of classic magic with Dennis Watkins. The Chicago Tribune writes, “The Magic Parlour” is a simple entertainment in the Ricky Jay mold: old-fashioned trickery performed very well in an ideal setting by a man with a heart and a story who craves being close to his audience…Watkins is a master of misdirecting attention and technical mastery…he is without an obvious peer.”
Additionally, Watkins works non-stop, bringing world-class magic and mind reading to corporations of all shapes and sizes. His unique approach to educational and informative entertainment, combined with his experience in cultivating collaboration among individuals, teams and businesses has made him a highly sought-after corporate speaker and entertainer.
Watkins is a Founding Member of the critically acclaimed company, The House Theatre of Chicago, where he as worked as a writer, director, actor and producer of original theater for the last 15 years. In April of 2015, The House will open Watkins’ original play, The Magnificents at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the performing arts in Miami, FL. Watkins stars in the show as an aging magician who passes his legacy on to a young sleight of hand prodigy.
